The Rebuke I Needed Today
Stephen sent me a link to this post, “Signs of Growing in Grace”. It is exactly what my sinful heart needs today. It speaks to my temptations. It reproves me of sins that stand well in my heart. Much to meditate on.

After two weeks in the hospital (which included a stay of over a week in ICU), John was amazingly released to go home today! Praise God for His intervention, His grace, His power, His healing, and His wisdom! God spared John’s life, and we are so thankful for God’s working. Here is the text message… Read More John Goes Home!
John & his sister Chris John–he’s only 8. Yet, he has been in ICU and on a ventilator since this past Sunday. With a terrible combination of pneumonia and influenza B on top of his mild asthma, John wasn’t expected to make it through Sunday. Thankfully, God mercifully intervened, and John turned the corner early… Read More Little Cousin
Classic. Timeless. Charlie Brown. Decorated shoe boxes. Elementary school. When I think of handmade valentines, these words and images come to mind in a warm, fuzzy, pink sort of way. This year I’ve developed a new belief: “Valentines are best handmade.” I know you could probably say the same thing for almost any holiday card,… Read More Handmade Valentines
Dear Daddy, Roses are red, Violets are blue, Mommy and I Belong to you! Will you be our valentine? Love and kisses, Silas

Happy Groundhog Day! Today we wake up the sleeping groundhog to see if he’ll see his shadow or not. I can’t think of a more accurate way to predict the weather. Sometimes groundhogs are grumpy. We can’t be a smiley all the time for goodness sake! Although this particular “groundhog” (who is 3 months old… Read More Grumpy Groundhog
I’m not naturally a compassionate person. I’m not. If you think I am, then I’ve either managed to put on a good front–or, better yet, maybe I’m improving in the compassion department (because I’m really trying!). I remember one time during high school years when all my sisters were sick with the flu while we… Read More Learning Compassion
