This past Saturday we giddily headed north for some fall fun (and fall weather) at Mortimer Family Farms near Prescott, AZ.
Last summer we spotted the farm on our way to Prescott. It’s situated in a valley with mountains on either side. The huge old trees on the farm caught our eye, and we knew we wanted to come back for a visit.
One of the first things we did was walk the dirt road lined with sprawling trees. The air was cool, and we soaked in the beauty of the day, the farm, the season. There’s nothing like the sights, sounds, smells and textures of a farm to make autumn come alive.
Cooper had an absolute blast playing in the corn pit (sandbox made of corn kernels). He would squeal with happiness and flop on his belly in the corn. Meanwhile, Silas had the time of his life in the bouncy houses.Â
The hayride took us to the country store where we adopted some fudge and sassafras candy. The boys visited the goats and sheep at the petting zoo, and Silas took a ride in the saddle.
I’m glad you four had a great time on the farm.It seem’s like e kid’s really enjoyed it.
Love it! I can’t wait until Paige is old enough to enjoy fall activities!! (but I’m not rushing time either…it’s already going too fast!)
