Standing Tall

Friday, Baby turned 10 months old. The day was overcast–for once–so a morning visit to the park was not only bearable, but pleasant. Baby now stands on his own and can clap or hold a toy while doing so. This past month he’s begun cruising around the furniture. He most often uses his crab crawl to get around {two hands, right foot, and left knee}, but when he needs to get somewhere fast–like crawling to Daddy–he employs a conventional crawl. Yes, Daddy is his new favorite person. After four days with Daddy in San Diego, Baby can’t get enough of Stephen! I think it might have a little bit to do with the fact that Stephen gives him horsey rides and flies him around the house like an airplane. Just a guess.Silas’s newest skill is pointing. Somehow this developed while in San Diego. He tends to point in the general direction that he’s looking. We’re working on getting him to point to Mommy or Daddy or Silas, but he’s still in the primitive stages of pointing. For now, he’s elated that he can get his index finger to stick out from his hand. 🙂 Another fun activity for him is to sit on the floor and use his legs to turn himself around 360 degrees.It’s nice to see him developing an interest in a real toy. A little train we got from a friend held no interest for him before, but now, he plays with it all over the house. Since it’s on wheels, he can chase it across the tile. {p.s. Silas has also taken up bird watching in his spare time}

These past 10 months of getting to know Silas Clark have been full of wonder and love.

  1. I hope you all will be able to come in Nov for Allison’s wedding, it has been too long since we’ve seen you and we can’t wait to meet little silas. You are welcome to stay with us if you are able to come.

  2. SO hoping we can make it this fall. Haven’t bought tickets yet, but will let you know when we do. Thanks for the invite!
