Silas and Grandma Manka met for the first time this past Wednesday. It was so sweet to introduce our son to my mom! I have so been looking forward to my mom’s arrival. Knowing that Mom was on her way to care for us and to share in our joy really helped me get through some of the more difficult times of the first week with Baby. From the minute Mom entered our home, she has been a whirlwind of activity taking care of us. After her long flight to Phoenix, she promptly proceeded to thoroughly clean both our bathrooms. I was amazed at her energy!
She’s made yummy cinnamon rolls, cooked meals, gone grocery shopping, and even washed my tile on her hands and knees.
The first night Mom was here, she gave Silas his first bath. He didn’t care much for his sponge bath, but the warm towel at the end helped make up for it.
Mom has just been in her element cooking, cleaning, doing laundry, and loving her little grandbaby. I’m so thankful she and Silas can have this special time. It’s been great for us to have Mom all to ourselves for a little while. This is what memories are made of!
Haha, the last picture made me laugh so much. So adorable.
Silas makes the most hilarious faces!
