I finally feel like I’m able to pull my head out of the sand and start enjoying things and people around me. For the past 7 months, I’ve been trying to adjust to my new life as a wife, elementary teacher, and Indiana resident. Of course marriage is a wonderful gift from God that Stephen and I rejoice in each day. After dating for over 4 years, we are so overjoyed to be husband and wife — FINALLY!!! 🙂 It’s been fun to put up curtains, buy furniture, and see our barren house morph into a cozy little home.
Teaching 6th grade has definitely stretched me to be a better teacher. I was blessed to have lots of materials left behind by the previous teacher. Even so, it was a huge adjustment. I do enjoy teaching the 14 students the Lord has entrusted to me, but it is very different from the small school atmosphere of St. George, UT.
Spring seems to be coming! I saw my first robin recently. Today the sun was out, and it wasn’t biting cold outside. This darkness, coldness, snow, and cloud cover is quite the opposite of sunny, warm Utah. Although I have enjoyed the blizzards, it has been quite oppressive.
Enough of my ramblings. Now that I’ve finally caught up to the pace of life here in Anderson, I hope I can reach out to others.
