I’m a little late to find out, but there’s some good economic news coming from “my home state”:http://www.nationalreview.com/nrof_comment/swanson200603280801.asp for once. Based on what I’ve seen and read, Governor Mitch Daniels has far exceeded my expectations so far. I didn’t follow the 2004 Indiana governor’s race very closely since I’m not living in the state at the moment, but from what I did see Daniels basically campaigned as the “party’s man” for the job, which didn’t leave me with very high hopes concerning his conservative credentials. He may yet have more allegiance to party than principle, but what I’ve seen of him so far suggests that he has both the conservative credentials and political know-how to get some worthwhile things accomplished. Here’s one Hoosier hoping that it stays that way.
