Here’s a parade of pictures from our past few months that I want to remember.
We celebrated autumn with a trip to the Oregon Heritage Farm‘s apple festival and with a backyard bonfire–complete with a hot chocolate toast!
This was the first year we decorated the porch for Halloween and dressed up with the kids. We had our traditional Hoosier Chili and cornbread for supper and lit our carved pumpkins {Spiderman 2099 mask, Ben 10 Omnitrix, and Miraculous Ladybug yo-yo}. The costumes {and subsequent birthday parties} followed the same character themes, which worked out well for Mommy. Our friend Jesse came over to trick-or-treat with us, so it was a fun night with friends in the ‘hood. The kids and I also braved the haunted hallway at school. All three kids were pretty freaked out.
Silas turned 8 years old, and had a friend over for cake and ice cream. The following weekend we took a family trip to Wings and Waves Waterpark where Silas was thrilled that he could go down the Mach 1 slide all by himself.
Cooper requested a visit to Chuck E. Cheese for his 6th birthday party. We invited a couple of friends and made it a night of pizza, tokens, fun, and games. We all went to school and ate with each of the birthday boys in the cafeteria on their special days.
Some friends invited us over for Thanksgiving dinner. It was delicious, and I was thankful not to host. But, I did get a turkey and roasted it later on for us. This time I tried a new method and made my first spatchcocked turkey. I was so proud of myself, and it turned out delicious!
Love that photo of you and your turkey!
