I’ve been so busy doing nothing this Christmas break, that I just haven’t had time to blog!
Early in December I had my wisdom teeth removed (finally!), and a friend of mine came over for two days to take care of me and the kids. Debbie is such a sweetheart to serve us so selflessly. She even brought a nativity window cling set for the kids to put up.
We watched our fair share of Christmas movies this holiday season. One evening while the neighbor girls were over for a movie and hot cocoa, they helped me decorate the tree.
Our small group Christmas party was perfectly picturesque. The kids made ornaments and exchanged gifts. Then we put on festive headgear (the boys’ favorite part by far!)
and caroled for the neighbors. After being out in the cold, a hot chocolate bar was just what we needed. We loaded our cocoa with whipped cream, chocolate chips, sprinkles, and candy canes.
Before Silas’ school break, we went with some friends to Zoo Lights at the Oregon Zoo.
It was lovely, and I especially liked the lighted 3D animal sculptures.
The kids were pretty miserable in the cold, but Brynn walked the whole time and didn’t complain once. My favorite part was seeing the bats active. They were just waking up, stretching, and flying a bit. So very cool!
Hope you all had a Merry Christmas!
What a wonderful holiday season! Doing nothing is the best way to spend vacations I think. Love you!
