Almost all 400 of the people who work in my department wore green today. There were green balloons, green hair, green blinking buttons and earrings, and even a green bowtie. I love being a St. Patty’s Day baby because everyone is celebrating with me. The whole day today was a party. My morning began with a Starbucks white chocolate frappuccino, a card and a gift from my coworkers. My team then sang to me and surprised me with a birthday party in the break room. One of the girls’ brothers had made a huge cake with “Happy Birthday Elisabeth” written on it. It was decorated with shamrock rings which we promptly distributed! They had brought in chips and salsa, fruit salad, and all sorts of goodies.
For lunch, the gals I eat with brought in homemade Italian sausages, fruit salad, pea salad, deviled eggs, and a pasta salad to share. Talk about being spoiled! I even had one friend who sang to me and did a little Irish jig!
Tonight Stephen made me a delicious steak dinner, which he cooked using an iron skillet method he found online. He topped the steak with mushrooms and cheese, made us salads and pasta on the side. Yum! We had a nice quiet evening at home which is exactly what I wanted since we’ve been running around so busily recently.
I loved reading all my birthday greetings from friends and family far away, but you are greatly missed. Thank you for caring and remembering!
Happy St. Patrick’s Day!
I’m glad you had a good birthday, Elisabeth! We sure miss you two. Stephen, that meal looks delicious!
Dear Elisabeth,
