Have you ever been browsing the web and come across a poem, article, anecdote, quotation, etc. you wanted to save to a central, searchable location instead of bookmarking the whole page or saving the info to a document file? Google’s new “Notebook”:http://www.google.com/notebook/ app has you covered. It’s actually very similar in concept to one of my favorite “Firefox”:http://www.mozilla.com/firefox/ extensions, “Scrapbook”:http://amb.vis.ne.jp/mozilla/scrapbook/, except that Google makes it even more useful by making the content centrally accessible on their server rather than Scrapbook’s local database. I’m currently working on migrating my Scrapbook content over to notebook, after which I’ll remove the Scrapbook extension (and hopefully speed up Firefox a bit).
UPDATE: “Here’s”:http://www.google.com/notebook/public/05940504958557832852/BDR03SwoQoem6ybQh a link to my public Google Notebook. The ability to make notebooks public for others to see is another cool feature.
